What are the precautions for cylinder seals

The manufacturer of hydraulic cylinder must understand the sealing technology to select different seals according to different technical requirements. The seal manufacturer must also understand the working principle of the oil cylinder and adopt different designs to meet the technical requirements of the oil cylinder. Therefore, they need to closely cooperate to reduce the probability of oil cylinder failure. 

(1) When there is no device, the seal has four dimensions, which can be seen by everyone and measured by a measuring tool. The four dimensions are: the inner diameter of the seal root, the outer diameter of the root, the inner diameter of the lip, and the outer diameter of the lip.

 (2) When the sealing element device has not worked in the groove, the groove size remains unchanged, while the size of the sealing element has changed completely. The four dimensions are: the outer diameter of the seal root, and the outer lip diameter changes to the outer diameter of the groove at the same time; The diameter of the inner lip is the diameter of the piston rod, and the inner diameter of the root is the clearance between the seal and the piston rod plus the diameter of the piston rod. 

(3) When the oil cylinder starts to work, the working state of the seal is: the inner and outer lips are close to the inner and outer walls and move backward slightly. The root of the seal is squeezed backward. With the increase of pressure, the force of hydraulic oil on the seal increases, and the overall deformation of the seal increases. When the working cycle is completed and the oil cylinder has no pressure, the seal will return to its original state. Repeat the deformation and recovery until the effective amount of both lips of the seal is lost.
